Though the treatment was originally developed to treat BPD, research has shown it is helpful in treating depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders and more.\r\n\r\nIn the DBT, clients learn the following:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>First you will learn\u00a0<strong>Core Mindfulness<\/strong> \u2013 learn to stay present, mindful and live in the moment.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Next is<strong> Emotion Regulation<\/strong> \u2013 learn ways to manage strong emotions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Also you learn<strong>\u00a0Distress Tolerance<\/strong> \u2013 learn how to stay nonjudgmental and accepting.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Interpersonal Effectiveness<\/strong> \u2013 learn how to improve your relationships with others.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Last but not least is<strong> Walking the Middle Path<\/strong> \u2013 learn how to look at all sides of a situation and find balance.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4>Who would benefit?<\/h4>\r\nPeople who\u00a0are struggling with the following concners tend to be a good fit for dialectical behavior therapy services.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>First, people who struggle with managing emotions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Next, we often see teens or adults who engaged in cutting and self-injury benefitting from DBT.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>People who have a difficulty in managing their anger or frustration.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Also, teens or adults who are experiencing suicidal ideation.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>In addition, people who have frequent interpersonal conflicts and struggle to maintain relationships can benefit.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Last but not lease are those who experience confusion about\u00a0their identify and sense of self.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nIn conclusion, Dialectical Behavior therapy is a treatment proven to be helpful through research.
